OUTLINE ART - Custom Portraits + Prints

TIPS ON HOW TO CHOOSE A PHOTO TO BE DRAWN:

• Choose your subject - a person or an occasion (e.g. your parnter or your wedding day, or a fave travel memory) and find a selection

• Check if the photo is clear - the more detail I can see - the better the portrait is going to be
→ is it blurry?
→ is it really dark?
→ is it a large image or really small? - High res images are best

• Consider the framing of the photo
→ is anything cut off? - it's ok to have half portraits (i.e. waist up etc) but make sure what is in the photo is whole ... if that makes sense...
→ does anything look odd in the photos? - awkward hands or limbs translate directly to the portrait

• Other tips:
→ Doesn't have to be a front facing, posed photo - candid portraits are super fun
→ Doesn't really matter if someone is pulling a funny face or their eyes are closed - faces aren't included anyway!
→ Selfies are ok so long as the whole head, neck and shoulders are in the photo - they tend to look a bit strange otherwise

• Other FAQs about choosing a photo:
→ Can I merge two photos together? (i.e. add someone in / draw this photo but make my hair look like it does in that photo?) - answer: sometimes. usually. depends on the photos... I'm always happy to try, and I will tell you if it doesn't work!

HOW DO I ORDER A CUSTOM PORTRAIT?

Select the product you are interested in (for example: ‘custom portraits - outline only’).
Select the options that are applicable to you - how many people are in the photo you want done, what size you want the picture to be (A5, A4, A3, A2), and what frame colour you want
Place your order – make sure your postal and email addresses are accurate
I draw from photographs so please email your high res photo to [email protected]

If you’re unsure please don’t hesitate to contact me via email / DM on the socials.

Please note:

Portraits with 10 or more people will need to be individually quoted.
I will contact you shortly after you place your order to remind you to send your photo if you haven’t already done so, or if I need any further clarification from you. I will also contact you for further payment if you order a portrait with 3 people (for example), but send me a photo with 10 people in it..... you’ve been warned. :P

WHAT AM I GETTING WHEN I ORDER A CUSTOM PORTRAIT?

You get a unique and fun outline drawing of your photos.

Each portrait is created digitally and designed to order (obviously).

Digital Portraits:
Digital portraits will be delivered to you via email upon completion.
You will receive a digital file (in a couple of formats) suitable for printing up to A3 in size.

Print Only:
Your portrait will be printed externally on 240gsm premium white photo matte paper with archival inks that will last.

Print & Frame:
Your portrait will printed externally on 240gsm premium white photo matte paper with archival inks that will last. It will be professionally framed in an Australian produced timber frame (either black or natural timber), carefully packaged and sent direct to you (or your loved one upon request) ready to display.

HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?

Portraits: Each portrait is created to order (obviously) so please allow 5-7 days for your piece to be completed.

Print collections: All Line & Tide prints are currently printed to order so please allow 3-5 business days for your order to be dispatched.

Digital orders: these will be sent to you immediately after completion.

Printed & framed orders: (i.e. if you order your print/ portrait to be printed / printed & framed) these are sent to our framer immediately after completion to be packaged and sent direct to you / your loved one.

Print only: Please allow a further 5-7 days for print and delivery.
Print & frame: Please allow 7-10 days for print, framing and delivery.

I will be in contact with you if the wait time is longer.

OTHER THINGS:

"Why are there no faces?" Custom portraits do not include faces. - That is my style after all. You can read more about my art on the ‘About L&T’ page.

Detailed portraits: If you select a more detailed custom portrait - please note that sometimes your background or extra clothing details just won’t really look good when drawn in my style. Please trust my artist eye on this. If you’re unsure about your image please contact me before you place your order.

Special orders: (e.g. landscape portraits or detailed building drawings - like my ‘Santorini Coastline’ or ‘Istanbul Building’ prints) are available upon request - please email your image and what size you'd like to order to [email protected] and I will send you a custom quote.

PRINTS

My print collections are created with a combination of digital and hand drawn card & ink processes. They’re printed and framed with the same beautiful paper and quality frames as my portraits, ready to be displayed in your home.

I aim to add new prints to each collection semi-regularly so keep your eye out for new ones!

PAPER SIZES

All prints and portraits come in the following size options with a matboard and frame around the actual artwork:

A5 (14.8cm x 21cm)
A4 (21cm x 29.7cm)
A3 (29.7cm x 42cm)
A2 (42cm x 59.4cm)

Gift Certificate - Dollar Amount – can be used for prints or portraits

REDEEMING GIFT CERTIFICATES

Select from any portrait or print on the website
Select the options you wish to order (size, number of people etc)
Go to checkout and fill in your details. Use your unique code to complete the payment.
(For portraits) email your (high res) photo to [email protected]

ON THE SOCIALS

Any drawing, original photo that I share on the socials (Instagram, Facebook & Pinterest) or website are done so with the permission of my customers.

I always love to see some photos of my drawings “in the wild” (i.e. on display in your home) and share them with my followers so please send me your pics! And please make sure you tag me if you share them online

I may also share any review or positive feedback you send me about your order.

POSTAGE

Once dispatched the delivery time is at the mercy of Australia Post / relevant courier service (as arranged by our framer). You will received tracking information once your order has been dispatched and hopefully it won’t take too long from there.

Postage costs

Postage costs listed on the website apply within Australia only.

As these costs vary a lot based on the size of portrait, frame, and your location, I may need to invoice you for extra postage fees where necessary. I aim to contact you about this before I send your order for printing.

Digital Portraits - Please use code 'FREESHIPX' to cancel automatic postage cost

Overseas Postage is available on request (please contact me before ordering) - Please note that overseas orders may attract further postage fees. We take no responsibility for any duties or additional charges due to international postage. If extra postage costs occur we will contact you with an invoice for the additional payment.

DELIVERY ADDRESS

Please make sure your delivery address is correct when you place the order - I'm going to assume it's correct and send your order to that address. Line & Tide is not responsible for replacing artworks if the delivery address is entered incorrectly in your order.

REFUNDS

Although we do not offer refunds as such - if a piece is damaged in transit please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. We will assess each case individually.
